The conditions for great fishing were present today as we ventured offshore in search of some game fish. Bait was popping the top of the water everywhere, the water temps were falling and grass was bunching up. We fished 24 miles out with another big boat that picked up 2 kings and a barracuda in front of us while we were wrestling these two mahi-mahi in at the same time. The sea bass on the bottom was a great addition with only a few throw backs. Get ready, the time is here!

Mackerel
June 18th, 2010Wednesday was another beautiful day on the ocean with 1-2 ft. seas. Scott Swing bought 4 young men along with thier grandad to fish on the Follow Me With Teddy and myself. Just as soon as we cleared the inlet we warmed the boys up on some spanish mackerel. Later on we headed about 12 miles offshore where we found some kings and then another spanish that was 26 inches and weighed in at 5 pounds! Another great day, thanks Scott.
Smooth
June 17th, 2010Tuesday proved to be an awesome day to be out on the water. We were able to take our new friends from Texas for an offshore trip in search of kings and mahi-mahi. With a smooth sea we ventured out 30-40 miles and the awesome Teddy Bell set out our lines. With a few spanish in the boat we started picking up some kings and hooked up on a sea train(aka amberjack) but lost him. But that’s fishing, good weather, good music and good friends makes for an unforgettable day. Thanks Chunk!

Big Blue
June 14th, 2010The Big Rock opened with a bang today. ‘Citation’ weighs in an 883 lb. blue. That puts the pressure on for sure. Good luck to Alan and crew of the J&B along with the rest of the boats. Man u gotta love big boat fishing!
Offshore report

changes
May 24th, 2010A new season and new things. First of all shallotte inlet dredging is complete, new markers should be in place today.
Our old dock is going to be replaced with slips. The dredging project is going on this week and our new individual slips should be in place by the first of next week! While we are having to work around the construction the wait should be worth the while. Be sure to come by and visit!
Bluefin Tuna
December 13th, 2009It’s that time of the year, water temps are ideal for the annual bluefin run. Several have been landed in morehead and we are looking for these giants to make a showing here within the next week or so. let’s get ready to welcome them.
Black Sea Bass
October 5th, 2009
As of today, Monday Oct 5, NOAA announced the temporary closure of the black sea bass in the federal waters North of Cape Hatteras for 180 days.
This doesn’t effect us locally but if you are planning to go to the Outer Banks be informed.
Maybe they should lower the size back down so that you can keep what you catch, but limit more closely how many to keep? Who knows, that’s why I cannot stay behind a desk.
